Cycling safety instructions

1. Basic inspection before riding

Choose a bicycle that suits you

Choosing the right bike is an important factor in ensuring riding safety, performance and comfort! Adjusting your bike to your proportions and riding environment requires experience, skill, and specialized tools. Therefore, you must refer to the advice provided by your dealer when choosing a bicycle size. It is recommended to use BikeFitting to determine the bicycle size that suits your body shape, as well as adjust the seat post and handlebar.

Notice! If your bike is not perfectly suited to your physical condition, you may lose control and fall while riding.

safe clothing

1. Safety helmet: When riding, please be sure to correctly wear a bicycle safety helmet that meets the latest safety and quality certification standards. It is recommended to choose a bicycle safety helmet that matches the type of riding you are doing. Always follow the helmet manufacturer's instructions for adjusting, using and maintaining your helmet.

2. Clothes: Brightly colored clothes can make it easier for others to see you. Choose clothes that are close-fitting to prevent them from accidentally catching on bicycles or other objects on the road while riding. When riding a bicycle with an exposed chain, do not wear lower clothing that can easily get caught in the sprocket.

3. Shoes: It is prohibited to wear high heels, slippers or bare feet while riding. Special cycling shoes can help our feet firmly contact and control pedaling. Please ensure that the shoelaces cannot enter the rotating parts of the machine.

4. Protective glasses: It is recommended to wear them, which can effectively protect your eyes and prevent sand, dust and insects in the air. Use lenses with different transmittances. Use dark lenses when the light is strong, and use lenses with higher transparency when the light is weak.

5. Gloves: It is recommended to wear special gloves for cycling. Gloves can increase the stability of the handlebars and palms and prevent slipping caused by rain or sweat. At the same time, it can also improve the comfort of the grip when riding.

To ensure safety, please do a simple inspection before riding!

1. Handlebars and stems: After holding the front wheel with both feet, turn the handlebars left and right, up and down to ensure that the stems and handlebars are not loose.

2. Tire pressure: Please press it with your hands or use a pump to measure it to see if the air pressure is sufficient. Use the air pressure range on the side of the tire as a standard. Carefully observe whether there are obvious scratches, bulges, or deformations on the tread and sides. Damaged tires must be replaced before riding.

3. Quick release and thru-axle rod: Please use your thumb to pull the quick-release handles of the front and rear wheels and the seat tube to ensure the quick-release tightness; if it is a hexagonal locking thru-axle rod, please use a tool to check to ensure that the thru-axle rod is locked.

4. Seat cushion: Please turn the seat cushion left and right, up and down to make sure the seat cushion and seat tube are not loose, and confirm that the safety line on the seat tube is not exposed.

5. Braking: Please pull the brake handle and push the bicycle forward and backward at the same time to ensure that the braking function is normal and effective; lift the front and rear wheels one after another to spin, and check whether the brake pads are obviously rubbing against the rim or disc. After the above inspection, if there is anything abnormal or unclear, please do not ride and use it. Please find a dealer or professional bike shop near you for inspection and maintenance.

2. Precautions while riding

1. Please obey all road rules and all local traffic regulations.

2. You are sharing the road or trail with others, including motorcyclists, pedestrians and other cyclists, so please respect their rights.

3. Be defensive when riding. Always assume that others may not see you.

4. Be prepared to deal with the following situations at any time:

① The door is opened when the vehicle slows down or turns when entering the intersection in front of you or coming from behind you.

②Someone came out of the sidewalk. Children or pets are playing next to the road.

③Potholes, sewer bulkheads, railroad tracks, expansion joints, road or sidewalk construction, debris, and other obstructions that may cause you to swerve, snag your wheels, or cause any other accident.

④Other dangers that may distract you while riding.

5. Try to ride in designated bicycle lanes or on the edge of the road, in the direction of traffic flow, or in the driving direction set by local government laws.

6. Stop at stop signs and traffic lights, slow down and watch traffic at the intersection. Cyclists are always the casualties in a collision with a car, so be sure to give the car the right of way even if you are riding in your own lane.

7. Please use hand signals to inform other vehicles or pedestrians when turning and parking.

8. Do not wear headphones to listen to music while riding a bicycle. Music can distract you from hearing traffic and emergency vehicle sirens, and the cords of your headphones can get tangled in moving parts of your bike, causing you to lose control.

3. When an accident occurs

Notice! If your bicycle has the following abnormal conditions due to rollover or collision, please do not continue to use it reluctantly to avoid danger. Please take your bicycle to a nearby dealer or professional bicycle shop for detailed inspection and maintenance. If any parts have been deformed, be sure to replace them. The frame, front fork, handlebar, brake lever, transmission, wheel set, crank, etc. are deformed, bent, cracked, broken, etc. Especially for carbon fiber parts, please stop using them immediately if cracks occur.

1. When the car rolls over, falls off the car, or collides with other vehicles

First, move to the side of the road quickly to avoid a secondary accident. After treating injuries, please check the condition of the vehicle. If there is any abnormality, please do not force yourself to ride. It is recommended to get off the bike and try again.

2. When a tire blows out

Please be sure to get off the vehicle. If you continue riding, the rim, tire, inner tube, etc. will be damaged, and the tire may even fall off. This is a very dangerous behavior.
